Welcome to the latest issue of the ACE newsletter which will bring you up to date with the key developments from our industry, including Free BIC IBAN software for qualifying institutions. Below you will find out details of how we have restructured our product portfolio, customer wins with Harbor Funds and ADCB, an expanding partner network with Getronics, our activity at EBAday and Sibos, and where you might have seen us in the press.
ACE has announced specific industry based solutions of its PELICAN product suite, alongside other complementary standalone modules and toolkits that provide comprehensive solutions for payments, STP, SWIFT connectivity and SEPA compliance needs.
Each element of the PELICAN solution suite solves a current pressing need in the market whilst providing a platform that can accommodate changes in the payments landscape, whether from industry or regulatory initiatives.
ACE’s PELICAN framework - based on SWIFTReady Gold accredited technologies, is now the core technology for the three new solutions: PELICAN for SEPA solves the pain of SEPA compliance, PELICAN for Corporates gives Corporates control over their payments via a single integrated platform and PELICAN for SWIFTNet centralises and manages SWIFT messages and connectivity.

Free BIC IBAN Software
ACE is making access to the ACE BIC IBAN module free of charge to qualifying companies in order to further industry movement towards SEPA compliance and introduce greater STP for European cross border payments.
The ACE BIC IBAN module ensures that you can process all European cross border payments with mandatory BIC and IBAN information, automatically validating and repairing messages irrespective of format. ACE doesn’t just recognize the problem it solves it by using intelligent IBAN and BIC detection, validation and automatic BIC derivation for full SEPA compliance. Click here to register your interest
Many of our customers are implementing solutions for SEPA in Europe. SEPA creates a larger, more competitive payments market in Europe and banks will have to differentiate themselves by offering innovative value added services. At the same time they need to move to the latest technology and standards based on SWIFT, XML and ISO 20022.
ACE’s PELICAN product with its built-in flexibility and proven innovative business solutions has been popular with clients and prospects. PELICAN for SEPA provides support for all new SEPA Credit Transfer XML messages, performs IBAN and BIC validation and repair and incorporates web based exception processing for R-transactions like returns and rejects.
ACE met with its peers and payment professionals at the EBAday in Rome whose theme this year was ‘Leading the Transformation’. The event brought together the most influential speakers from the banking, standards and regulatory community. ACE announced a Free BIC IBAN offer and this generated interest from members of the banking community. ACE also held a draw for a bottle of fine Italian wine, the winners were Juan Jose Salas of Banc Sabadell and Thierry Nespoulous of CALYON – congratulations and enjoy your wine with our compliments.

ACE is already gearing up for the biggest banking event of the year. ACE will be showcasing solutions for payments and STP at the world’s premier banking event, Sibos, where this year’s theme is ‘Gaining Momentum.’ Sibos Boston will serve as a platform to discuss how we can speed up implementation and adoption of strategic opportunities to benefit the financial community. ACE will also be delivering a presentation: “Key to successful implementation of SWIFT Connectivity for Corporates” at Sibos on 3rd October at 14.45. With initiatives by SWIFT to encourage greater corporate access and the introduction of the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) many Corporates are faced with a significant challenge: how to take advantage of new SWIFT connectivity options to increase STP in the financial supply whilst meeting SEPA compliance. This speech will outline the essential elements of a successful implementation and the pitfalls to avoid.

ACE has continued to see strong growth in the client base with Ohio-based Harbor Funds Distributors and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) implementing solutions from ACE to comply with anti-money laundering and anti-terrorism regulations.
Following a competitive evaluation, Harbor selected AML Toolkit and OFAC Guard from ACE, “We were looking for a solution that would work well in a fund management and broker/dealer environment [...] we needed to know our compliance software would be in the vanguard of achieving best practice in this vitally important financial security arena,” said Harbor Funds VP Constance Souders.

To enable compliance with official blacklists from various authorities, ADCB one of the largest banking groups in the Middle East, has selected OFAC Guard™ as part of a larger Payments Gateway project which is intended to give the bank greater control of its payments infrastructure.
Steve Dickens, Chief Operating Officer at ADCB, “We conducted an extensive review of the available solutions on the market. ACE has continued to expand its network of business partners via an agreement with ICT giant Getronics PinkRoccade, the largest service bureau for payments in the Netherlands. Getronics who process over 100 million payments per year will migrate all payment processing onto the PELICAN platform from ACE and offer ACE’s solutions for payments, STP and SEPA compliance to its banking and corporate clients.
The first client will go live in September of this year with the remainder of Getronics’ clients in the Netherlands following shortly afterwards, thus ensuring full SEPA compliance.
“Having analysed the available payments systems on the market, we chose ACE’s PELICAN platform because of its functionality, flexibility and the availability of targeted industry-specific versions for SEPA, SWIFT and corporate connectivity,” said Gerwin Brink, Solution Manager for Payment Services, Getronics.
The combination of the established PELICAN platform allied to the market presence and local expertise of Getronics in the Netherlands will provide an unrivalled service for companies looking to gain control over their payment processing infrastructure now and in the future.
